Seven time National Ladies Champion KAREN
MEAKINS is featured with nine other ladies in a newspaper article tribute
to women who have achieved success in the sporting arena locally. The article
is in the Barbados Saturday Sun published on March 8, 2008 and was
submitted by the Women In Sports Comissission of the Barbados Olympic
Association (BOA) in conjunction with the National Sports Council (NSC)
to celebrate International Women's Day (March 8th). |

names squash team for the CAC Games
The Barbados Squash Rackets Association has
selected a team combining youth and experience to participate in squash in the
20th Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games in Cartagena, Colombia in
July. |

Defending National Champions On Top Again
The defending champions both
successfully retained their respective national squash titles as the curtain
came down on the 31 st Barbados National Squash Championships, which were
sponsored by the Barbados Olympic Association. |

BARBADOS WINS MEDALS AT PAN-AMERICAN JUNIOR
SQUASH CHAMPIONSHIPS The
Barbados junior squash team has just returned from the 3rd Pan American Junior
Squash Championships (November 9 – 14th ) in Santiago, Chile with two medals,
one silver and one bronze, an amazing achievement by a team that entered this
under-18 age group event unseeded. |

Barbados Regains Caribbean Junior Squash Title
GEORGE TOWN, Cayman Islands,
CMC – Barbados seized their fourth Caribbean Junior Squash overall team crown
in six years when they captured the girls title and finished runners-up in the
boys category as the tournament ended at the South Sound Courts on Friday
evening. |

Meakins wins gold for Barbados in Trident
Insurance 2004 The Barbados
Open defending champion Karen Meakins, who has also won the last four Barbados
national squash titles, clinically dispatched the top seeded Canadian, Ruchika
Kumar, in straight games to win her fifth Barbados Ladies Open title when the
curtain came down on the Trident Insurance Barbados Squash Open. |
