Con la inclusion del Squash en el
programa oficial de ODESUR 2010 nuestro amado deporte se acerca al sueño
Olimpico. A continuacion
el mensaje de Claudio G. Fontanazzi presidente de la Confederacion

Este es el trabajo de todos...Nuestra
presentacion, elaborada conjuntamente con la Federacion Colombiana de Squash
ha tenido como premio la inclusion del Squash en el programa oficial de 2010.
Felicitemonos todos, porque con
el trabajo de todos los paises, con la concrecion de tantos torneos de alto
nivel, tanto en lo deportivo como en lo organizativo y con el alto compromiso
de participacion demostrado. Hemos logrado el gran sueño Olimpico Sudamericano.

JUEGOS SUDAMERICANOS MEDELLÍN 2010 TIENEN DEFINIDO EL
PROGRAMA DE COMPETICIÓN

Los Juegos
Suramericanos Medellín 2010 abarcarán 31 deportes. El programa de la
competición fue definido durante la Asamblea General del organismo concluida
este martes, día 13, en Medellín, Colombia. Los Juegos se realizarán entre los
días 10 y 21 de marzo y el Comité Organizador Medellín 2010 anunció que
construirá una Villa para los cerca de 3.500 atletas que disputarán los Juegos.
"La expectativa es que Medellín 2010 establezca un nuevo nivel de organización
para el evento. Al Comité Organizador le felicitamos por el trabajo que ha
hecho para la realización de los Juegos", afirmó el presidente de la ODESUR,
Carlos Arthur Nuzman. Gustavo Villegas, director del Comité Organizador, hizo
la presentación del informe de Medellín 2010.
Los 31 deportes que integrarán el
programa de competición serán atletismo, baloncesto, bádminton, béisbol,
boliche, boxeo, canotaje, ciclismo, esgrima, esquí náutico, fútbol / fútbol
sala (FIFA), gimnasia artística, balonmano, ecuestre, judo, karate,
levantamiento de pesas, luchas, natación, patinaje, remo, squash, sóftbol,
taekwondo, tenis, tenis de mesa, tiro con arco, tiro deportivo, triatlón, vela
y voleibol / voleibol playa.
Hasta el 31 de octubre la ODESUR recibirá las cartas de
intención para la realización de los Juegos Suramericanos de 2014. La elección
de la sede se llevará a cabo en mayo de 2009, en Uruguay.
Durante la Asamblea, los 15 países Comités Olímpicos
Nacionales afiliados a la ODESUR firmaron una moción de apoyo a la candidatura
de la ciudad de Rio de Janeiro a la sede de los Juegos Olímpicos de 2016,
enseñando unión de América del Sur con el objetivo de traer por primera vez
los Juegos Olímpicos a este continente. Para Carlos Arthur Nuzman, "la moción
de apoyo es resultado del trabajo que el Comité Olímpico Brasileño ha
realizado en América del Sur y un reconocimiento por el éxito de los Juegos
Panamericanos Rio 2007".

The Medellín
2010 South American Games will feature 31 sports. The competition program was
defined during the entity's General Meeting, ended this Tuesday, May 13, in
Medellín, Colombia. The Games will be held between March 10-21 and the
Medellín 2010 Organizing Committee announced that it will build a Village for
the about 3.500 athletes that will compete at the Games. "We expect Medellín
2010 to bring the organization of the event to a higher stage. The Organizing
Committee must be congratulated on for the work it has carried out for the
Games," stated Carlos Arthur Nuzman, president of ODESUR (South American
Sports Organization). Gustavo Villegas, Organizing Committee director,
submitted the 2010 Medellín report.
The 31 sports in the competition program will be: athletics, basketball,
badminton, baseball, bowling, boxing, canoeing-kayaking, cycling, fencing,
water skiing, soccer/indoor soccer (FIFA), artistic gymnastics, handball,
equestrian, judo, karate, weightlifting, wrestling, swimming, skating, rowing,
squash, softball, taekwondo, tennis, table tennis, archery, shooting,
triathlon, sailing and volleyball/beach volleyball.
Up to October 31, ODESUR will receive the letters of intention for the hosting
of the 2014 South American Games. The host-city will be chosen in May 2009, in
Uruguay.
During the Meeting, the 15 National Olympic Committees affiliated to ODESUR
signed a motion in support of the city of Rio de Janeiro's bid to host the
2016 Olympic Games, showing South America's union around bringing the Olympic
Games to the continent for the first time. For Carlos Arthur Nuzman, "this
motion results from the work the Brazilian Olympic Committee has carried out
in South America and recognizes the success of the organization of the Rio
2007 Pan American Games".
