OTTAWA – Robin Clarke of Ottawa heads to this week's Professional Squash
Association tour stop in his hometown on the heels of a spectacular showing
this past weekend.
The main draw of the GoodLife Open gets underway in Ottawa this Thursday
(October 18) and runs until Sunday with the final set at 1 p.m. The tournament
takes place at the GoodLife-Queensview Fitness Club at 2655 Queensview Drive
in Ottawa.
Clarke, seeded sixth, is one of four players slated to face a player from
the qualifying draw in Thursday's first round. He could potentially meet
compatriot and the tournament's defending champion and number-two seed Shawn
DeLierre of Brossard, Que., in Friday's quarterfinal.
''This is my favourite tournament of the year and I'm really looking
forward to it,'' said Clarke, 21, who has put his studies on hold to play full
time professionally.
